Brother Frederick Walter Smith

	A master's job is never done, it lives on through the ages. Prior to June 16, 1912, all of the records of Clovis Lodge were lost in a fire when the hall they rented, The John E. Good hall, burned to the ground, along with all of the records and furniture of Clovis Masonic Lodge. All that we have to go by is the memories of those present and the written words of some of the members who kept diaries. We are indebted to Worshipful Bro. Smith for his guidance and leadership in our formative early years. On August 6, 1946, Bro. Fred Smith PM and charter member of Clovis Lodge was laid to rest in McFarland, Ca., and Delano Lodge 309 officiated at the Masonic Service. Kind words offered were, "Bro. Fred will long be remembered for his proficiency in the Lodge work and his great interest in Masonry and in the early history of Clovis Lodge."
